An Education Immersed in Industry

At Make School, you’re not preparing to enter the tech industry, you’re already part of it.

We are not ones to name drop, but when it comes to getting our students the best opportunities to work with the best companies, we aren’t afraid to shout it from the rooftops. We believe the best coders don’t work in isolation. They are collaborative, team-oriented, and have a strong network of peers.

That is why it is so important that our students build relationships with top companies and the professionals who make them what they are. Our campus, curriculum, faculty, internships, extracurriculars, and mentorships are all centered around creating meaningful connections with the greater tech industry.

Tech Greats, Not Textbooks

We develop our curriculum in partnership with companies like Spotify to ensure that you are learning the skills that companies want for today and tomorrow. Our instructors all have experience working in the current market and bring practical insights to the classroom each day. We even have companies teach multi-week classes like Yelp’s technical interview readiness course so that you understand how your education translates into real world scenarios.

By working directly with industry pros to develop your hard and soft skills, there is never any confusion about “how to transition” into the working world because you’ve already experienced it.

Learn From Your Future Co-Workers

When you start at Make School, you instantly have credibility as an individual who is passionate about computer science. This drive and dedication is what attracts big companies like Google, Lyft, and Microsoft to seek out partnerships with our students. In the past, we have partnered with Lyft and Microsoft for a Summer Challenge Project where twenty-five Make School students paired up with industry mentors and worked on a passion project for two months. In 2020, we were one of twelve colleges to participate in Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute extension program. Programs like these not only provide you with invaluable coding experience, but are also a unique opportunity to demonstrate your talent to future employers.

Pipeline to Your Dream Job

Make School is increasingly becoming known among recruiters as a source of top talent. We hold regular job fairs both on-campus and online with companies like Microsoft, Lyft, Uber, Yelp, and Twitch in order to help you land the most sought-after tech jobs. Our alumni network is also a powerful resource for connecting to potential opportunities in Silicon Valley and around the world. There are over 1200 Make School and Summer Academy graduates working in the industry who are eager to help you navigate your career.
